My Delivery - Your package, when it suits you
At Burd Delivery, we do everything to make your package delivery as easy and flexible as possible. Here's how our delivery works, from ordering to receipt.
When your package is on its way
First step: My Delivery email from Burd Delivery. This is sent to the package recipient's provided email when we receive data from the webshop
- You receive the above email with information about your delivery
- Here you can check if your address and phone number are correct
- Click the button in the email to open "My Delivery"
- In "My Delivery" you can:
- Change delivery address (until 3:00 PM)
- Update phone number (until 3:00 PM)
- Adjust delivery date (until 3:00 PM)
- Authorize where the package may be placed (until the courier is at your door)
- Choose if the authorization should be used for future deliveries. This is shown in the image below
- Your changes are received by us in real-time, so changes happen immediately
- Note: We do not have keys to apartment buildings
Behind the scenes
- We collect your packages from the webshop between 9 AM-5 PM
- The packages are sent to our terminals/warehouses
- Between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM, all packages are sorted, weighed, and scanned
- Your package is placed on the relevant route
On delivery day
Driver preparation
- The driver receives a message via their driver app about which route and cage the packages are placed in
- All packages are scanned into the vehicle (bicycle, car, or van)
- When the driver is ready, they press "Start route" in the app
Your delivery notification
- You receive the above SMS from Burd Delivery
- The SMS states that we deliver within a 90-minute time window
- The SMS contains:
- The webshop's name
- A link to our live-tracker (webapp - no app download necessary)
Live-tracker features
- See how many stops are before you
- Follow expected arrival time (constantly updated)
- See the driver's position in real-time
- Option to authorize placement of the package
At delivery
- The driver checks if authorization has been given
- If not, the driver rings your doorbell
- If you don't open, the driver calls you
- If you live in an apartment complex and you have chosen the authorization "Place at door
(DO NOT ring/knock or call phone)", then because we do not have keys to the building entrance, the driver will call you - Each delivery is documented with:
- Geolocation of the driver
- Photo documentation of the delivery location
- When the package is delivered, "My Delivery" is automatically updated with the photo
- You get the opportunity to rate the driver so we can improve our service
Security
- All images are not stored locally on the driver's phone
- The images are stored securely in Burd Delivery's cloud system
- Only Burd Delivery has access to the images to ensure your and our security
